City of a Hundred Spires

Within the first 30 minutes of being in Prague, I found myself being stuck in an elevator for the next 45 mins. Despite this unfortunate beginning to a new adventure, Austria was filled with storybook buildings and undeniable charm. In the Main Square, there are restaurants surrounding traditional dancers in the middle. Carts with crepes and doughnuts are wheeled around and horse-drawn carriages can be heard with ringing bells. The Charles Bridge has the best view of Prague castle, artists painting portraits, and many tourists gathering around one particular statue. You have to touch the falling priest on the plaque of the statue of St.John of Nepomuk and make a wish. Since medieval times it has been said your wish will come true in a year and a day once you touch the plaque.
