***I had the opportunity to study international public relations in the cultural hub of London. Below are my notes from a tour of Edelman.
Edelman : Largest, independently owned PR firm with great room to grow and practitioners of diverse backgrounds. They assess the different skills the practitioners have and give them job positions based on that. Many of their clients are global (XBox, Microsoft). To be part of the team after college, you can apply for the Graduate Scheme where you spend one month in each department to find your niche. At the end, you rank the departments you worked in. The process includes an online application, phone interview, an assessment day in London with a presentation, one on one interview, group test, and interview test. Corporate employers can learn by having good judgment, learning quickly, and observing those around you.
Everyone has a personal brand which is broadcasted on a multiplicity of networks. Marketing tools means utilizing the entire scope of media in order for your message to be heard.
Reputation specialties for the UK Government they have worked on-
♦ Public Affairs
♦General Elections every 5 years
♦Parliament- House of Commons/ House of Lords
